ROOTSI AUCTION & LIVE AUCTION TERMS

Effective Date: September 2026

These terms apply to Standard Auctions, Live Auctions and Live Auction Events conducted through Rootsi.

  1. BIDDING

By placing a bid, you confirm that:

  • your bid is genuine;
  • you have reviewed the listing;
  • you intend to purchase the item if you win; and
  • you accept these Auction Terms.

Do not bid if you do not intend to complete the purchase.

  1. AUCTION LISTINGS

Buyers should review the description, photographs, seller information, condition and shipping information before bidding.

  1. BIDS

Auctions may include a starting price and minimum bid increment.

Bids must satisfy the requirements displayed by Rootsi’s auction system.

  1. OFFICIAL AUCTION TIME

Rootsi’s auction system/server time determines the official start, bidding and closing times.

  1. ANTI-SNIPING

An auction may automatically extend when a qualifying bid is received shortly before closing.

The auction may continue to extend until the configured extension period expires without another qualifying bid.

  1. WINNING BID

When an auction closes, the highest valid bid recorded by Rootsi’s auction system will normally be the winning bid.

  1. PAYMENT

The winning bidder must complete payment through Rootsi within the period displayed or communicated by Rootsi.

Failure to pay may result in cancellation and/or bidding restrictions.

  1. LIVE AUCTIONS

Live Auction Events may contain multiple individual lots.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, each lot constitutes a separate auction product.

  1. MULTIPLE WINNING LOTS

Where Rootsi provides this functionality, lots won from the same applicable Live Auction Event may be combined into one checkout.

Applicable shipping charges remain payable.

  1. STREAMING DELAYS

Live video and audio may be delayed by internet connections, devices or streaming technology.

The bid recorded by Rootsi’s auction system takes precedence over statements or information appearing in a delayed video stream.

  1. TECHNICAL FAILURES

Where a material technical problem compromises the integrity of an auction, Rootsi may reasonably pause, extend, cancel or correct the affected auction.

  1. BID MANIPULATION

The following are prohibited:

  • sellers bidding on their own products;
  • fake accounts;
  • sham bidding;
  • collusive bidding;
  • artificially increasing prices; and
  • other deliberate manipulation.
  1. SELLER CANCELLATION

A seller may not cancel a completed auction merely because the winning price is lower than expected.

Rootsi may permit cancellation where a genuine listing error, technical problem, fraud or another exceptional circumstance justifies it.

  1. BUYER PROTECTION

Plants purchased through auctions remain subject to applicable Rootsi Buyer Protection and Live Plant policies.

Winning an auction does not remove applicable statutory consumer rights.

  1. ACCEPTANCE

Every time you place a bid, you confirm acceptance of these Auction Terms.
